Cleda Lewis Campbell

Cleda Campbell passed away at Pine Ridge on Monday, April 25, 2011, from complications of COPD. She was born in Pagosa Springs, Colo., on Nov. 10, 1934, to Velma and Lynn Lewis, both native Pagosans. She was one of two beautiful girls.

She met and fell in love with Jack Eaklor. They were married on June 20, 1956. After their marriage, they moved to the Eaklor family ranch in Chromo, Colo., where they began raising their beautiful children, Jack Jr., Cindy and Bobbie.

After losing her husband to an accident, she moved back into town, where she worked at Citizens Bank and continued to raise her children as a single mother. Her family was her pride and joy.

She was a strong, beautiful woman with a big heart. She enjoyed being outdoors, going to the rodeos and country western dancing. She loved Pagosa Springs and the surrounding beauty it holds. She often referred to it as God's Country.

Later in life, she met and married Kenneth Campbell on July 2, 1997. They continued to reside here in Pagosa as retirees. She lived in the family home on Hermosa Street that was built in the 1930s.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Campbell; her children, Jack Jr. and Barb Eaklor, Cindy Eaklor, Diane and Todd Proctor, Juel Verquer and Susan and Todd Mosely; her grandchildren, Lorie and David Gonzales, Nick Jaquez, Olivia Mosley; and two great-grandchildren, Jay and Cutter Williams. Cleda was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Wood, and her father, Lynn Lewis; her sister, Charlotte Freienmuth; and her daughter, Bobbie Eaklor.

Services will be held at Crossroad Christian Fellowship at 1044 Park Ave., Pagosa Springs, on May 7, 2011, at 2 p.m., with reception to follow.

She was a woman that is dearly loved by everyone that knew her and she will be dearly missed.
