Obituary

Mrs. Alma Bedingfield

Mrs. Alma Bedingfield was born October 7, 1894 at Tonganoxie, Kansas, the daughter of William and Eda Freienmuth.

She was graduated from the Tonganoxie High School, the University of Kansas and the Bebee School for Medical Technique in Minneapolis, Minn. She also attended the University of California at Berkley, and the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was a member of the PEO and the Order of Eastern Star. She taught in High School for eight years in Kansas and South Dakota. At one time she was principal of the Tonganoxie High School. She was a Medical Technician for eighteen years, serving in the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, and in the Risdon-Sterett Clinic in Leavenworth and in war paltns during World War II.

In 1943 she was married to Col. A. J. Russell who passed away in 1950. In 1958 she was married to James Bedingfield of Coos Bay, Oregon.

Mrs. Bedingfield passed away June 23, 1962 at Coos Bay Ore. She is survived by her husband at the home and one brother, W. Hans Freienmuth of Tonganoxie and five nieces and nephews.

Services were held in Coos Bay on June 26, and at Rum---s Chapel in Lawrence at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 29. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lawrence, KS.
